Hyde Energy’s vision is rooted in our desire to be a leading oil trading and marketing company by brand presence, service delivery and profitability. We make good use of the expertise of our people, who have extensive technical and practical knowledge of the West and Central African oil-producing regions.

Over the years, we have expanded our business portfolio into crude oil, refined oil products, LPG and dry bulk commodities. Similarly, our reach has grown, and we serve customers from offices in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Mauritius, London and Malta. To support our main activity – trading – we have secured bulk storage facilities in the West African region and acquired a petroleum tank farm and terminal in Nigeria.

Also, in our Nigerian home market, we have established Hyde retail stations, launched a comprehensive range of Hyde Energy branded lubricants and developed an end-to-end LPG distribution system. Our guiding light – the Hyde Energy management team is building a truly global oil and commodities business through excellence. In doing so, we are helping balance global supply and demand with the needs of the developed and emerging economies we serve.

Our Journey

Hyde Energy has a strong footprint in Nigeria’s downstream and midstream oil industry.

FoundationHyde Energy began operations in Nigeria, importing and exporting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and selling clean petroleum products. These operations established our base as a trading company. We enhanced our import and export activities by: • acquiring a tank farm for storing petroleum products • securing a two-year term contract for LPG export. ConsolidationWith a solid foundation and sustained growth, we began exploring opportunities in the oil and gas value chain, including: • access to credit lines from international banks • opening our first retail station, to move downstream in the value chain. GrowthA phase focused on increasing our client base and transaction volumes by:• building a credible reputation in the industry• secured a term contract for crude-oil export and spot contracts for fuel-oil export. ExpansionOur expansion was facilitated by developing additional distribution channels for moving our products to the end users, by:• developing a retail network ‘Home is where Hyde is’• securing throughput arrangements that resulted in a significant increase in sales volume. DiversificationDiversified product offerings included:• our extensive range of own-brand lubricants for both industrial and retail customers• strategic hires to reinforce our capabilities as a high-performance organisation. ResilienceTaking advantage of the unpredictable commodities market:• we expanded our market share in the supply and distribution of petroleum products• strengthened our footprint in the international commodities market. InnovationInnovations included:• creating new solutions for delivering and distributing LPG• upstream activities such as creating partnerships to strengthen indigenous participation in the Nigerian Oil & Gas sector.
